This extract is a dark brown fluid derived from the fruit of the Kigelia Africana tree (Sausage Tree). Traditionally Tongan women in the Zambezi valley use a preparation of Kigelia fruit on their face. This is believed to ensure a skin free of blemishes. Several cosmetic products can be made from Kigelia extract. These include body creams, face creams, shampoos and bath and shower gels. Kigelia extract is believed to alleviate skin complaints such as eczema, solar keratosis and Kaposi sarcoma.
