The colour comes from lawsone, a pigment in the henna leaf that bonds with the keratin in your hair, so it grows out rather than washing out.
Pure henna gives red-orange tones: rich red highlights on dark hair, a strong copper on greys. There’s no such thing as pure blonde or brown henna — deeper browns and blacks come from combining henna with indigo, which we also stock.
