Soapnut (Sapindus Trifoliatus) contains saponin, which is a good substitute for washing soap and is ecofriendly too. As little as 1tsp is all that is required to wash shoulder length hair. Soapnut does not lather as it does not contain any artificial surfactants however it is an effective cleanser without any known side effects.

Amla (Emblica officinalis) is an excellent conditioning herb. Regular use provides nourishment to hair and keeps it glossy and silky. Amla is also an excellent exfoliant as it contains high levels of ascorbic acid which break up the top layer of dead skin cells.
