Are you concerned about the chemicals that are used in synthetic hair dyes? Are you looking to use natural and organic hair dyes to colour your hair? Then…. you should consider using pure, unprocessed & natural plant powders that are organically grown to colour your hair. These powders are not new inventions. Henna & Indigo plant powders have been used for thousands of years to dye hair.

Henna dates back over 5000 years ago and is now widely used around the globe. Organic Henna hair dye is the best solution for dyeing hair. No harmful pesticides or artificial fertilisers are used in the growing and you get a deep rich color with organic henna. Organic Henna also leaves your hair soft and manageable. The henna plant, Lawsonia inermis, grows in hot, arid regions like North Africa and India. Henna works because lawsone, which is a strong pigment, when applied is absorbed into hair. An acidic mixture such as black tea or lemon juice strengthens the dyeing properties.
Organic Henna hair dye is an excellent option for those who want to strengthen their hair and bring a beautiful natural color to their hair.

Using a pure and organic Henna powder dyes grey hair orange-red. Depending on the original colour of the hair, lighter hair turns a vivid orange, while darker hair may turn auburn or mahogany; black hair may only show a subtle reddish sheen in sunlight. Pure henna powder will not give other shades. Unlike artificial dyes, a standardised colour cannot be obtained using pure henna powder, as the final colour depends on your natural hair colour. There is no such thing as brown henna or blonde henna. Henna can be combined with few other plant powders to get different colours

Premixed henna kits are not organic - nor are they considered real henna. Real henna comes from a plant that when dried and crushed creates a stain. No chemicals are required for henna to work properly.

Combine Henna and Indigo for Hair Dyeing

Combine Henna with Indigo powder, to get colours from brunette to jet black. Organic Indigo powder (Indigofera tinctoria) is a pure plant powder that is obtained from the crushed dried leaves of the plant. No harmful pesticides or artificial fertilisers are used in the growing of the plant. Applying indigo to grey hair dyes hair a bluish-green colour. A henna-indigo mix warms the colour to reddish rather than blueish undertones. The henna-indigo ratio can be varied to get different shades of brown, mahogany and "cherry black".

Henna is a more permanent dye than indigo, therefore indigo appears to fade faster in a henna-indigo dyed hair. The hair may lighten and appear redder after about 3 weeks. If you do not enjoy this variation in colour reapply indigo more frequently than henna.

Indigo is a much less stable dye than henna and releases dye much more quickly than henna. Therefore the indigo paste should be mixed just before applying to the hair.

Senna

Test Senna on some hair harvested from your hairbrush before use. Everyone's hair is slightly different, and results vary. Senna is an excellent natural conditioner and adds luster & shine to dull hair. Combine Senna with Henna powder, to tone down the brightness of red in Henna . Applying senna to grey hair dyes hair a mild golden yellow colour. It will not colour grey hair blonde, but will give golden highlights. The henna-senna ratio can be varied to get different shades of red.
