Natural Colours are either oil (O/s) or water (W/s) soluble. Natural colours are made from natural botanical ingredients such as capsicum (red), beetroot (pink), spinach (green) etc. by removing all the non-colour ingredients from an extract of the botanical herb. For example, to obtain natural colour red from capsicum, the pungency is removed from an extract of capsicum. Some natural colours are only to be used in cosmetic applications like soaps etc. As all natural colours are made from natural botanical sources they will react differently to chemicals such as lye.
