Cosmetic Ingredients Recipes

Amla - Indian Gooseberry (Emblica officinalis)
  1. Nourishes the hair, thickening and darkening it at the same time.
  2. Good tonic for the eyes.

Henna -(Lawsonia albla)
  1. Excellent hair conditioner and tonic.

Hair tonic

Mix henna extract powder, Amla Extract powder, Yogurt & lemon juice powder, in water. Apply this to your hair and leave it for an hour. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo.

Hair Color

To give your hair a rich Burgundy Tint use Henna powder once a week regularly. Take 50gm of Henna extract, 10 gms of Amla extract and Tea water. Mix together in a cup and leave it in an Steel vessel overnight. Apply it to your hair the next day, leave on for at least two hours and then wash off. This will help darken your hair in three to four applications.

Herbal bleach

Make a blend in water of cucumber powder, orange juice powder and lemon juice powder with henna extract powder and apply.

Neem - (Azadirachta indica)

  1. Beauty enhancer
  2. Antiseptic

Pimples

Mix Neem extract powder, Red sandalwood powder and yogurt in equal proportions. Apply the paste on the affected area.

Dandruff

Heat Coconut oil with 20 gms.of Neem extract powder and apply to your hair once a week.

Tulsi - Basil (Ocimum sanctum)

  1. Antiseptic

Face pack

Tulsi Extract powder, lemon juice powder and honey mixed together can work wonders to your oily skin.

Pimples

Blend Tulsi extract powder with Mint juice and lemon juice powder. Apply this on your pimples.

Shikakai -(Acacia concinna)

  1. Hair-vitaliser

Soap nut -(Sapindus trifoliatus)

  1. Excellent hair tonic

Herbal shampoo

Make a paste of extracts of shikakai, Soap nut and Amla powder. This would serve as an effective herbal shampoo.

Dandruff

Mix Soap nut extract with water and apply once a week.

Red Sandalwood - (Pterocarpus santalinus)

  1. Skin freshener

Glowing skin

Make a paste of sandalwood with Fuller's Earth, Indian gram flour, barley flour and wheat flour and apply.

Stubborn acnes and pimples

Use a blend of Sandalwood powder with Neem and basil extract powder, mixed with water.

Aloe Vera Gel
  1. Moisturises, cleans, smoothens and softens the skin
  2. Prevents wrinkles and keeps the skin fresh, young and gives it a healthy glow.
  3. Protects from the after effects of sunrays, dust, smoke, exhaust fumes etc.
  4. Stimulates and rejuvenates skin.
  5. Revitalises Hair

Skin nourisher

Massage a blend of castor and mustard oil with aloe vera gel into your skin.

Promotes hair growth /arrests hair loss

Mix Aloe Vera gel with, castor oil, olive oil and apply .

Turmeric
  1. Cleans skin and beautifies it.
  2. Used in face packs to nourish and clean skin
  3. Antiseptic and healing properties prevent and cure pimples.

Pimples and Blemishes

Paste made of powder of turmeric extract with equal quantity of sandal powder, orange peel, Rubia cordifolia and rose extract .
